Coaches Never Stop Learning

In the middle of what seems like a never-ending pandemic, our Desert Hoops family never fails to seize an opportunity to improve. While already having a long list of accomplishments, Southwest Desertcats Head Coach, Jesus Aragon, received his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science from Ibero-American University Mexico City, this past weekend.

"I feel good because of where I come from. I know how much it takes to accomplish these kinds of achievements.” said Coach Aragon when asked about the feeling of reaching this milestone.

As a coach, constantly having his players in mind was enough motivation behind his choice to pursue education in Sports Science. He plans to use this degree to further his understanding of a players' body as it relates to the game of basketball.

Aragon gives his deepest thanks and appreciation to his wife Denise Sanches, high school coach Donald Dotson, career advisor Kike Ortiz, friend Francisco Uranga and his family. His family here with Southwest Desert Hoops extends a huge congratulations to Coach Aragon and thanks him for being a great leader and role model for our young men and women to follow.
