Southwest Desertcats make History in El Paso

After a draining weekend on the road the Southwest Desertcats returned to The Den to finish their regular season against the Southwest Desert Storm. For the better part of the first half, the game was back and forth. After trailing the Storm at the half by one, the Cats returned to the court locked in. Defensive pressure and a sense of urgency on both ends of the floor allowed the Cats to take the lead and close out the game.

This marked the end of regulation game play for the Desertcats and history in El Paso has been made. For the first time in the history of the Sun City, a professional basketball team has gone undefeated in regulation. ( 15-0 overall / 12-0 ABA ) They have locked in the #1 seed in the Pacific West Division playoffs and have most recently been Power Ranked #3 in the Nation- never before done in the city of El Paso. What makes this even more rare- the story of how they got here. Stay tuned to read more on the journey to get to this point! More info on playoff games and times coming soon!
