SWC Players Get Back to the Books

After months of not knowing where professional sports were headed, several SWC players made the crucial decision to return to school. Most of our players aspire to play basketball at the professional levels. However, with the UBL season coming to an end and the WBDA season not even seeing its start, many players were left in a limbo.

After much deliberation, former Desertcat, Howard Robinson IV, committed to play for Randall University in July 2020.

Former starting point guard, Delino Lewis, received several offers from NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA men's teams to join their programs. It was the Westfield State Owls that won him over. He is currently in Massachusetts anxiously awaiting the start of their season.

Anaya De La Cruz, SW Desert Lynx guard, was able to rehab her achilles back to health and earned an opportunity to play in Hobbs, NM with the University of Southwest Mustangs.

We are proud to have been a part of the basketball journey, even if it was a short-lived period of time. Congratulations in continuing your education to each one of you and best of luck in your new chapters.
